We offer high quality core classes, in addition to a number of exploratory and fine arts courses including building trades, metal fabrications, driver's education, art, creative writing, FACS, computer technology, band, chorus, and music appreciation.
The MS implements an incentive program that rewards students throughout the school year in various ways for "doing the right thing".
We have a team of very enthusiastic Highly Qualified teachers eager to meet the needs of all learners.
Many of our classrooms and other facilities are new or recently remodeled.
We implement a diagnostic system called AIMSweb that allows us to track the individual progress of every child in reading and math. This progress is reported to parents three times per year. This data is also used to determine how much and what type of additional interventions each child will require to be successful.
The MPMS has experienced a steady increase in reading, math, and science test scores over the past two years as evident by the Dakota STEP.
The majority of our classrooms are equipped with Interactive Promethean Boards, designed to meet the needs of 21st century learners.
Our teaching staff has high expectations for all students and even higher expectations for themselves.
The middle school implements a student of the month program where a student from each grade is nominated by the teaching staff for being leaders among their peers and showing improvements in their classes
We have two portable laptop carts available for teachers to use with students to assist with integrating 21st century skills.
The Mobridge-Pollock Middle School is in the profession to make a difference in the life of a child, leave a lasting impact, motivate students to achieve, instill a sense of life-long learning, and prepare them for success once they leave our schools. If someone says they don't have time to work towards change that helps to achieve these goals then they should question why they are in the field of education. Our middle school teachers are dedicated educators that make the time because it is their job!
